The Adventure Of Turkish Travertine From Denizli To The Whole World.

Updated: Oct 17, 2023

While Turkey's colorful and high-quality stones are preferred by many countries of the world, the travertine in Denizli has an important place among them. 50% of the travertine reserves in Turkey are mined from approximately 40 mines in Ballık Boğazı in Denizli. Turkish travertine, which is extracted from these mines and transported to factories, is processed into slab, tile, step, riser, paver, thresold, bullnose tile or mosaic. After various surface treatments such as polishing, tumbling, brushing or honing they are packaged in European standards and shipped all over the world as well as United States and United Kingdom.

Turkish Travertine Quarry

Contrary to popular belief, Turkish travertine in our country is not only found in Denizli. Different colors and varieties are produced in many cities such as Konya, Burdur, Afyon and Sivas. Among these colors, yellow travertines are found in Sivas, brown travertines are in Afyon, and ivory or white-coloured travertines are found in Konya. As a result, although our country has rich travertine quarries, it has gained popularity in travertine around the world. Turkish travertine attracts attention from many architects, contractors and interior designers and is used in prestigious projects.
